Do You Know? was released by Enrique Iglesias back in May of 2007. The song goes by the subtitle The Ping Pong Song because the sound of a ping pong ball bouncing is used throughout the song. Iglesias claims that the record label added the subtitle to the song to make it more unique and marketable.
The first time I heard this song, I couldn’t help but think about the Saturday Night Live cowbell skit with Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken. I can just imagine someone in the recording stuido with Enrique saying “you know what this song needs? more ping pong.”
Tomorrow, Chicago will play host to one of the largest table tennis events in the United States. The Killerspin’s Spinvitational Table Tennis Championships will take place tomorrow in Chicago in the Grand Concourse at MccCormick Place.
BiBa, a Killerspin sponsored ping pong star, will be a main attraction. The event is part of Mayor Daley’s Annual Sports Festival. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the event.
The event will also feature Paralympics Table Tennis Championships.
